GRAY — Ben Cobb’s overtime goal gave Gray-New Gloucester a 1-0 boys soccer victory over Wells on Tuesday.

The ball came off the near post an fell to Cobb, who put it in the back of the net to break the scoreless tie 3:37 into overtime.

The Patriots (3-2) outshot the Warriors (0-4-1) 27-7. Goalie Tristan Cuttler made four saves for Gray-NG, which won its third consecutive game.

BUCKFIELD 5, CHOP POINT 1: Krosby Harvey netted two goals and added an assist in the Bucks’ (4-0) victory in Buckfield.

Justin Lucas, Kakoa Laliberte and Tanner Cousineau also scored goals for Buckfield, and Brady Trenoweth recorded an assist. Goalie Neil Haylock made three saves.

Maddox Coombs scored for Chop Point (0-4) off an assist from Elie Lemelin. Robert Conover was busy in goal and finished with 17 saves.

GARDINER 5, LEAVITT 0: Kian Alves scored three times and set up another goal to lead the Tigers (4-1-1) past the Hornets (1-5) in Gardiner.

Alex Taylor scored Gardiner’s other two goals. Zach Reed, Trenton Sirois and Kaleb Malloy each had an assist, and goalie Connor Fairservice made three saves.

Leavitt goalie Vanya Bezhenar stopped seven shots.

FIELD HOCKEY
MT. BLUE 3, OXFORD HILLS 0: The Cougars remained unbeaten (4-0) with a road win over the Vikings (0-3-1) in Paris.

Summer Sawyer, Lily Huntley and Alyssa Parker scored goals for Mt. Blue.

Oxford Hills goalie Gabby Wright made 18 saves, and Kaya Joseph added a defensive save.

GIRLS SOCCER
WELLS 2, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Hayden Meffert and Caitlin Rooney each scored as the Warriors (4-1-1) downed the Patriots (2-4) at Wells.

Ellie Schlichting scored for Gray-New Gloucester.

MT. ABRAM 3, BUCKFIELD 2: Abigail McCarty scored with 15 seconds remaining in the second overtime as the Roadrunners (2-2) won in Salem Township and dealt the Bucks (4-1) their first loss of the season.

McCarty’s game-winning goal was set up by a cross from Jenna Osgood. Mt. Abram jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half on goals by McKenzie Contreras and Osgood. Those goals were set up by Ari Dereszynski and Autumn Pulk, respectively.

Buckfield rallied back in the second half. Cora Brewster scored off a cross by Kai Trenoweth and Chloee Bennett tied the game when she buried a deflected ball into the back of the net with about 20 minutes remaining in regulation.

The teams’ goalies, Mt. Abram’s Jany Pepin and Buckfield’s Kianna Finnegan, each made nine saves.

POLAND 2, LAKE REGION 2: Kayleigh Goodwin scored twice for the Lakers (3-3-1) in their tie with the Knights (1-4-1) in Naples.

Arianna Gammon and Thea Thornton scored for Poland.

Jillian Barnes tallied eight saves in net for Poland and Jordan Blanton had six for Lake Region.
