DEAR SUNSPOTS: The collective historical societies of Androscoggin County will host an eclectic yard sale Saturday, Oct. 7,  from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the West Auburn Schoolhouse at 740 West Auburn Road in Auburn. Featured items will include baked goods, quilts, pottery, miscellaneous books and antique artifacts. This is a great opportunity to do some early holiday shopping, as well as support a wonderful group of preservationists. — Penny, no town

Come to the fall rummage sale at St. Catherine of Sienna Church at 32 Paris St. in Norway on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9-11:30 a.m. The $1 bag sale begins at 11 a.m. Please bring your own bags.

In addition to clothes for the whole family, there will be at least two rooms full of household items where you can find just what you have been looking for.

The very popular “Pay by Donation” system will be used for this sale for most items. Proceeds will benefit the free community Thanksgiving dinner.

There is ample parking behind the church on Beal Street. The church is equipped with a lift for easy access to the lower level where the sale will be held. — Sandy, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Many community members are anxious to visit the Androscoggin Historical Society at its new home on 93 Lisbon St. in downtown Lewiston.

While we are participating in Art Walk LA, there are still renovations and occupancy requirements to finish to be fully open to the public, which we hope will be later this fall.
