The nice weather expected today and Thursday comes to an end Friday with widespread rain into the weekend.
Wednesday will see plenty of clouds, but more breaks are likely for the afternoon with areas of sun.
By Thursday, a lot more sunshine is expected across Maine with the warmest temperatures of the week.
Clouds return to the forecast by Friday, and they’re expected to bring rain. Highs will be in the low 60s. Rain likely arrives around lunchtime, becoming steady for the afternoon and evening.
A coastal storm developing to our south arrives Saturday. Temperatures will remain mild in the 60s.
Rainfall totals could reach several inches across the state, as of now it’s looking like the mountains in western Maine will see the highest totals.
Some showers will linger into Sunday, mainly during the morning.
Some clearing is possible for the afternoon with gusty winds through the day. Highs will be a little cooler in the mid-50s.
Cooler temperatures look to arrive early next week. Highs on Monday will be in the low to mid 50s with more sunshine.
Temps drop into the 30s across the state Monday night — that’s our best frost potential of the next week, it would be one of the latest first frosts on record for Portland if it occurs.
Cooler weather will continue into Tuesday of next week as well with sunshine sticking around.
