WinterKids plans to hold its 12th annual License to Chill Celebration, presented by Mt. Abram Ski Resort & Bike Park, from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9. This year’s event will be at a new venue, Après at 148 Anderson St. in Portland.
The celebration has become a cornerstone of Maine’s winter social calendar, drawing support, and bringing together a community of those who share a passion for getting kids outside and active during the winter months, according to a news release from Julie Mulkern, WinterKids executive director.
The event is set to feature entertainment, food, and beverages, including guest emcees Blake & Kelly from Coast 93.1, live music by T.J. Swan, exclusive WinterKids Drink Specials by Après, and food specials with Meet on the Street.
There also will be door prizes and outdoor seating with fire pits (weather permitting).
In the lead-up to the celebration, WinterKids also will host a virtual silent auction from Thursday, Oct. 26, to Thursday, Nov. 9, featuring an array of goods and services contributed by businesses across Maine and New England.
Funds raised from this event will contribute to WinterKids’ ongoing efforts to promote physical activity and healthy habits among Maine’s youth.
Tickets cost $50 or $90 per couple.
