What is happening on the Lewiston City Council is an embarrassment to the city. We have four adults who cannot put aside their differences for the betterment of our community.

Councilors Bob McCarthy, Rick LaChapelle, Larry Pease and Lee Clement have continued to demonstrate they are narrow-minded, self-serving, power hungry politicians who refuse to do anything about the real issues facing Lewiston. Removing the president and censuring another member of the council is proof of that.

This is very discouraging as a Lewiston resident. Seeing my Ward 2 councilor, McCarthy, participate in these tactics is beyond disappointing. McCarthy recently stated in a Sun Journal article that he wanted voters to know “the most fulfilling part of being a city councilor is being able to help my constituents find solutions to issues they are facing.”

Seems to me that instead of helping, he is just silencing.
