I am writing to endorse Luke Jensen for mayor of Lewiston.

As a former member of the School Committee and City Council, Luke would bring an unmatched understanding of governance and budgets, which the other three candidates cannot equal.

Also, during the last council term, then-Councilor Jensen prophetically predicted that the budget cycles encountered by the current council, and those in the near future, would be difficult. This year several councilors have echoed these concerns.

Besides experience as an elected official, Luke is a frequent concerned citizen at council meetings, not to mention having a professional background in education and banking.

Luke Jensen has the experience and vision to lead the council and city to bring the change we need for cooperation, accountability and transparency for a sustainable path to the future.

I hope residents join me in voting for Luke via absentee ballot or on Nov. 7.
