The Open Book Players will present their final show of 2023, “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” a compilation of seven haunting stories, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, at Oak Hill High School, 56 School Road in Wales.
This production, in keeping with the Halloween season, includes chilling tales from modern authors as well as some classic gems such as Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Tell Tale Heart.”
The 11 performers include Cindy Turcotte of Bowdoin, Kathleen Brainerd and Jeff Brainerd of West Gardiner, David Marshall of Monmouth, Gabby Greenwood of Wales, Jocelyn Davis and Lianne Davis of Litchfield, Dylan McFarland and Reese Marquis of Sabattus, Elaine Perry of Winthrop, and Kayla Despain of Lisbon Falls. The production is directed by Lucy Rioux, the artistic director of Open Book Players.
The Open Book Players performances are regularly held at Johnson Hall in Gardiner, but that venue is still closed due to restoration and reparation work.
Tickets are will be sold at the door and are $5 for students and $10 for general admission.
