Karen Francoeur of Castine rides her mountain bike Tuesday through the Androscoggin Riverlands State Park in Turner. Francoeur said she ended up in the park after an odd chain of events. In return for Francoeur making a donation to Maine Public Radio, Lee Auto Malls conditioned her car for free. While waiting for her car to be detailed at Lee, Francoeur found the Riverlands’ trails on a map. So, she rode her bike up Route 4 to the south entrance of the park by the former Twitchell Airport. “That’s why I’m here and that’s why I’m on my bike,” she said. Daryn Slover/Sun Journal
