AUBURN – Pauline Rita Dumas, 95, passed away peacefully on Nov. 26, 2023, at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. She was born Jan. 11, 1928, to Valmore and Rose (Groleau) Duguay in Chisholm, ME. Pauline graduated from Jay High school in 1946. After graduating high school, she attended Pelletier’s Beauty School. She then met the love of her life, Gilbert Dumas, and married June 13, 1949 at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, Maine. They moved to Lewiston and raised their three children. After raising their children, Pauline went to work for Reid & Hughes until they closed.

Pauline and Gil enjoyed spending time vacationing in Cocoa Beach, Fla. She loved feeding her birds, camping at four seasons Campground and doing several different crafts. Her favorite pastime was playing cards with family and friends. She will be remembered for her witty humor.

Pauline is survived by her daughter Gail Beaule (Donald), son Brian Dumas and daughter-in-law Nancy Dumas. Grandchildren, Jennifer, Kim, Kevin, Michael, Karin, Allyson, Sarah, Ashley. Two sisters; Bernice (Norman), Lauri Ann, brother Edmund (Pauline), sister-in-law Rita Duguay, and several nieces and nephews. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Gilbert of 60 years in 2010, her son Peter in March 2022 and her siblings Vivian Rea, Annette Finley, Loretta Desjardins, Elie, Maurice, and Guy Duguay.
