Meredith Hope (Wilson) Thompson
WELD – Meredith Hope (Wilson) Thompson, 81, passed away peacefully on Dec. 2, 2023, at Sandy River Nursing Home with her husband by her side. Meredith was born Sept. 23, 1942. The daughter of Kathryn (Moody) Wilson and Linwood Wilson. Meredith attended Lincoln area schools, graduating high school from Mattanawcook Academy as the Valedictorian, and later earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
Meredith and her husband Ronald settled down in Buckfield, where they raised their family. Meredith worked for many years as the Maine Apple Growers bookkeeper, and the Buckfield Town Clerk. For the last 30 years she was the proud owner and operator of The Lake Webb Emporium in Weld. Meredith was a long-time member of the Weld Congregational Church where she loved to sing and led the choir. In her free time, she loved to sew and knit, there wasn’t anything she couldn’t make. She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time at camp on Webb Lake with her family.
Meredith was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ronald; children, Ronald Thompson III and his wife Kristy of Castle Rock, Colo., Jonathan Thompson and his wife Angie of Errol, N.H., Micaela Sheehan and her husband Robert of Omaha, Neb., and Barbara Rescigno of Sumner; sisters, Jeanne Ringo, Karen Wilson, Kristen Wilson, and Kimberly Harris; grandchildren, Kimberlie Fisher and husband Scott, Joshua Thompson, Luke Thompson, Doug Sheehan, Scott Sheehan, and Jamie Cappen; and five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Weld Congregational Church, 14 Church Street, Weld Maine, on December 16 at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon. Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, Maine, where memories, condolences and photos may be shared at http://www.dsfuneral.com.
