LEWISTON – Our family tree has lost a vital limb as Albeni “Beni” Da Silva, 65, of 66 Grove Street, Lewiston, unexpectedly passed on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023. Born in Mendes Pimentel, Minas Gerais, Brazil, he was the son of Jose Ferreira Da Silva and Olga Alves Ferreira.

He came to the United States as a young man, and was certified as a Master Electrician after taking courses in Georgia. Beni was a musician and loved singing and playing guitar, was quite the Brazilian cook, a magician, and could take anyone’s headache away by using pressure points. A man of great faith, he had extensive knowledge of the bible. Beni was very proud of becoming a U.S. citizen, and had a desire to connect with others in the Latino community. Lastly, he had a great love for his church and work friends, his family, and especially his many grandchildren and now four great-grandchildren.
