Scott A Yates
AUGUSTA – Scott A Yates, 58, of Benton passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Maine General Medical Center on Dec. 27, 2023.
Scott was born in Lewiston on Nov. 5, 1965 to Fenton Yates, Jr. and Alberdine Dewhurst Yates. He graduated from Edward Little High School and studied Culinary Arts at Central Maine Community College. He worked as a chef all of his adult life most recently at RiverView hospital.
Scott was a member of the American Legion Post #150 in Mechanic Falls. He loved all things Boston sports. He especially loved the Patriots. He was extremely smart and even made it to the final audition round for Wheel of Fortune.
Scott was predeceased by his parents Fenton and Alberdine; and his sister Stacy.
He is survived by his sons Zachary Yates and his wife Brianna of Greenwood and Scottie Yates, Jr. of Mechanic Falls; his sister Dale Felker and her husband Charlie, his brother Peter and his wife Lisa, his brother Steve and his wife Donna, his brother Todd and his fiancee Nicole Cyr; his grandchildren Paige, Paisley, Piper, and Alex; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews; and longtime friends and roommates Megan and Eric Spaulding.
Services will be held sometime in the spring.
