High school roundup: Winthrop girls cruise past Traip

WINTHROP — Madeline Wagner’s 16 points paced Winthrop to a 43-22 girls basketball victory over Traip on Monday.

Kylee Mansir added seven points for the Ramblers (8-3), while Caroline Corgan and Ella Rice contributed five apiece.

Marlee Mickle led the Rangers (0-12) with 10 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers.

MCI 47, MT. ABRAM 39: Jyllian Riendeau scored 12 of her game-high 16 points in the second quarter, helping the Huskies (5-8) take control on their way to victory over the Roadrunners (5-6) in Salem Township.

After being outscored 15-9 in the opening quarter, MCI won the second quarter to take a 26-22 lead into halftime.

Aleah Harris added 10 points, Kaleigh Dunton scored nine and Skyla Dean had eight for the Huskies.

Three Mt. Abram players tallied nine points: Bailea Haines, Abby McCarty and Sakari Savage.

MADISON 60, OAK HILL 13: The undefeated Bulldogs (11-0) took control early with a 27-point first quarter and cruised to a home win over the Raiders (1-10) in Madison.

Liz Kelley led Madison with 11 points, while Raegan Cowen and Alison Griffeth contributed 10 points each.

Haylee Harris was Oak Hill’s top scorer with four points.

LAKE REGION 43, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 21: Bella Smith scored 12 points, Ava Smith added 11 and Margo Tremblay 10 as the Lakers (8-5) downed the Falcons (4-8) in Naples.

Maisy Chase led Mountain Valley with six points.

SACOPEE VALLEY 44, TELSTAR 22: The Hawks (5-7) pulled away from the Rebels (7-4) with a 18-4 third quarter in Hiram.

Emma Boulanger poured in a game-high 22 points for Sacopee Valley, which also go eight points from Bridget Landry and six apiece from Emma Sanborn and Alexa Schroeder.

Telstar was led by Morgan Zetts’ 14 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL
RICHMOND 77, BUCKFIELD 39: Hunter Mason led the Bobcats (11-0) as they remained undefeated by downing the Bucks (4-8) in Buckfield.

Mason hit two 3-pointers and scored 21 points. Kenny Mecham also made a pair of 3s and finished with 18 points. Wyatt Cassidy added 13 points, highlighted by three treys.

Buckfield’s Gaven Parsons led all scorers with 27 points.

FALMOUTH 5, FRYEBURG/LAKE REGION/OXFORD HILLS 1: Joe Fischetto scored twice for the Navigators (8-5) in the win over the Ice Cats (4-5) at Bridgton Ice Arena in Bridgton.

Rowan Hagerty, Henry Whiting and Andrew Belliveau all had a goal and two assists.

Kaden Neureuther scored for the Lake Region co-op.

Brandon White stopped 19 shots for Falmouth and Charlie Herrick had 23 saves for the Ice Cats.
