Theresa M. Caron

LEWISTON – Theresa M. Caron passed peacefully on Jan. 21, 2024 at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center, after a brief illness. Theresa, known to many as “Terry”, was born on her family’s dairy farm and grew up with a strong agricultural background. A member of the 4-H Cooperative Extension and multiple 4-H Leadership Councils, she advocated for local farmers and helped to build community connections through agriculture in the state of Maine, alongside her family members. In her lifetime, she was dedicated to preserving her family’s farm and enjoying its quiet beauty – -a place where she spent nearly her entire life.

Theresa was a graduate of Edward Little High School; a parishioner of the former St. Louis Catholic Church in Auburn. Like many L/A residents, she worked as a textile worker in the local mill in her younger years. She worked alongside family as a seamstress/ sewing assistant for a family business, and she was a notoriously strong record and bookkeeper. For several years, Theresa served as an Androscoggin County Special Deputy. In her later years, she became a Medication Technician at Marshwood Nursing Center in Lewiston.

Theresa was often reserved, yet she was a quick witted and sharply observant lady. She was always kind and enjoyed a good laugh with friends and family. She absolutely loved babies, children and caring for people in need. She had many comforting pet companions throughout the years. She especially enjoyed gardening, canning/ preserving food, growing beautiful outdoor flowers and nurturing many indoor plants, eating all the delicious desserts available, finishing large jigsaw puzzles and word searches; which she enjoyed swapping and sharing with other family members over the years.

She is survived by her sister, Lillianne Latouche of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada; she is also survived and will be missed by many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews; as well as great-great-nieces and nephews. Theresa also spent many years enjoying the company and conversations of her longtime best friend, Diane Michaud of Auburn.

Theresa was predeceased by her mother, Angelina (Bosse) Caron and father, Pierre Caron; her sisters Cecile Bishop, Angelina Gauthier, Eva Lebel, all of Auburn, Rita “Blanche” Morin of Bristol, Conn., brothers Gerard Caron, Emile Caron, Louis “Jimmy” Caron, Arthur Caron, and Henri Philias Caron, all of Auburn; and the recent passing of her nephew and longtime caregiver, Phillippe P. Morin of Auburn.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Russell Park and Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice, as well as all those who came to comfort her and pray, throughout her final journey.
