DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m wondering when the new Market Basket in Topsham will open. I’ve been to the ones in Westbrook and Biddeford and was so impressed with their produce. — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: I’m waiting for this too, as are thousands of others! It will be a happy day when they open. According to a recent story in the Portland Press Herald, there still is no exact date being announced for the opening but it will be within the next few months and I do believe it will be worth the wait. I’ll keep you posted!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is anything happening or planned for the Prospect Hill Golf Course grounds at 694 S. Main St. in Auburn? Two years after a Chinese investor acquired the course, it suddenly closed in 2019 and since then, nothing is going on. It was a great place to play. — No name, no town

ANSWER: I checked in with the Maine Golf Association and they weren’t aware of anything happening as far as this course reopening or other development. Brian Bickford, the organization’s executive director, said he counts it as 10 golf courses that have closed in the state in the past five years.

I also have a call in to the Auburn Economic Development Department so hopefully we’ll have more info for you and other golfers who loved that course soon.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: After much success with my last request, I am writing again for your help.
