“We are willing to teach you if you want to learn and we will be giving free ice cream to those who come to play. If interested, please call 784-6241 or come to the Lewiston Armory at 65 Central Ave.n Lewiston on Thursday afternoons from 1-3 p.m.”

It would be best to call to see if the games will continue into the spring, which is just around the corner. Hooray!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is there a way to get rid of those pesky commas on calculators found on iPhones and iPads? I find it so annoying when balancing my checkbook, etc. I keep thinking I’m making mistakes. I have downloaded different versions and they all do this. Is there a way to eliminate the commas completely? — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: I’m not sure if all iPhones have this same format but this is what I tried: go to “Settings” then “General” then “Language and Region”, then “Number Format.” You will then see choices of how to format your numbers and can click on the one you prefer. Happy check book balancing!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Last weekend I was running errands and went to Hannaford and Rusty’s Lantern. When I got home, I realized I had lost an earring, one of my favorites.

I called both stores right away but no one had turned the earring in to customer service at either place. A couple of days went by and I decided to call both places again, just in case. I was so happy to hear some kind soul had found it in the parking lot, completely unscathed, and left it with customer service.

Whoever you are, my bet is that you read Sun Spots because you are so nice. I want to thank you and God bless. — Loretta, Lisbon

ANSWER: I’m so glad you experienced a happy conclusion to your day out!
