FREEPORT — passivhausMAINE, an advocate for sustainable building practices in the state, is set to hold its 11th forum Thursday to Saturday, Feb. 15-17.

The forum will bring together industry professionals, builders, designers, policymakers, and passive house enthusiasts to delve into critical themes that have motivated passivhausMAINE for over a decade. According to the organization’s executive director, Naomi Beal, said, “We’re focusing on how the state can address critical challenges like scalability, electrification, connecting with the next generation of Maine’s workforce, circular design, and of course, retrofits.”

The event offers three key tracks:

• Building Maine’s sustainable housing workforce–diversity, skills, and numbers for housing and retrofit needs.

• Retrofits in all their glory.

• Maine’s carbon reduction in the built environment, materials and operations.

The event begins with a series of workshops preceding Thursday evening’s keynote presentation at The Harraseeket Inn, 162 Main St. in Freeport.
