Richard F. Robert

BETHEL – Richard F. Roberts, 79, of Bethel, Maine and longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024.

Richard spent many years in the Oil Industry as an Engineer. Upon leaving that field, he followed his heart and was the founding owner of R Roberts Gallery in the Avondale section of Jacksonville.

He was active in the community and local charities. Richard was well known for his love of animals, taking in and spoiling many strays and rescue dogs over the years. Richard was one of the personalities featured in the book, “The Dogs of Riverside and Avondale.”

Summer 2016, Richard made his “summer” home in Bethel, Maine, his full-time residence.

Richard is dearly missed by his wife, Cheryl; his stepchildren, Kate Francetic, Eric Simon and Jon Francetic; and his furry children, Misteli and Ridley.
