ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Lewiston native Isaiah Harris won his heat of the 800-meter run at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.

Harris, who runs professionally for Brooks Beasts, took the lead early and was in front after 200, 400 and 600 meters. He finished with a time of 1 minute, 46.97 seconds. Josh Hoey (1:47.04) of Adidas was second.

Harris and Hoey ran the two fastest times of the four heats Friday.

Harris advances to Saturday’s 800 final, scheduled for 5:07 p.m. EST. Joining him in the final are the winners of the other three heats — Vincent Crisp (1:47.04), Shane Streich (1:48.15) and Bryce Hoppel (1:48.57) — and the next two fastest, Hoey and Abraham Alvarado (1:47.17).
