LIVERMORE — Selectpersons approved two warrant articles for the annual town meeting on April 23 during Tuesday’s meeting.

One warrant article will ask voters to approve money from the sale of a 2010 International truck to go toward the purchase of the new 2024 truck. The other will seek to approve money to go toward the purchase of a used backhoe to replace the current 2004 JCB backhoe.

“No one is going to take the old plow truck, nobody will take the old backhoe in trade,” Selectperson Scott Richmond said. “What we have done in the past, one other time is put an article in that any money we get for selling a truck, we will put towards the new one so it will help lower the debt service.”

Richmond said the equipment will be put out to bid. “If we don’t do this, any money we get just goes into the general fund,” he noted. “I would rather have it go so it gets the debt service down.”

Selectperson Brett Deyling agreed.

Voters approved up to $275,000 for the purchase of a new plow truck at the annual town meeting last year.
