LISBON — Several fire crews responded to calls reporting fires at Dingley Press at 119 Lisbon St. and a residence on Bowdoinham Road on Monday morning.

Lisbon Police Department Communications Officer Jason Ford confirmed the call for Dingley Press. He said details would be available from Lisbon Fire Department officials. Fire officials and a Dingley Press representative were not available for comment Monday afternoon.

At 10:27 a.m. a structure fire was reported at 165 Bowdoinham Road.

Durham Fire and Rescue posted on its Facebook page that the multi-department response to the Dingley Press fire showed the importance of mutual aid.

While Lisbon fire crews responded to the Lisbon Street business, Durham and surrounding towns were tasked with covering the Lisbon Falls Fire Station for other potential incidents.

Shortly after arriving at the Lisbon Falls station, a call came in for a structure fire on Bowdoinham Road. Crews from Lewiston, Topsham and Sabattus responded with Durham, the post said.

Photos from the Durham Fire and Rescue Facebook post showed crews battling what looked to be the remnants of a completely burned-out building.

It was cleared about 4:50 p.m., Ford said.

“We often get the question as to why we provide station coverage for other towns while they are on calls,” the Facebook post read. “Today is a perfect example why … Another example of neighbors helping neighbors!”
