LIVERMORE — Two warrant articles for the annual town meeting April 23 were approved by selectpersons Tuesday night, Feb. 13.

“No one is going to take the old plow truck, nobody will take the old backhoe in trade,” Selectperson Scott Richmond said. “What we have done in the past, one other time is put an article in that any money we get for selling a truck we will put towards the new one so it will help lower debt service.”

He said the equipment will be put out to bid. “If we don’t do this, any money we get just goes into the general fund,” Richmond noted. “I would rather have it go so it gets the debt service down.”

Selectperson Brett Deyling agreed.

To be sold is a 2010 International truck and a 2004 JCB backhoe.

One warrant article will ask voters to approve money from the truck sale going towards the purchase of the new 2024 truck. The other one will seek to approve money going towards the purchase of a used backhoe to replace the current one.

Voters approved up to $275,000 for the purchase of a new plow truck at the town meeting last year.
