READFIELD — Auburn native Ethan Brochu notched his third assist of the contest on the game-winning goal as North Yarmouth Academy slipped past Kents Hill for a 7-6 win in a Holt Conference boys hockey quarterfinal Wednesday.

Brochu helped set up Brunswick’s Jacob Colaluca for the game-winner on the power play with 2:32 left. Yarmouth’s Hugo Daniel provided the secondary assist.

Brochu’s first assist came on the Panthers’ second goal, which was scored by Daniel midway through the second period. Matt Katsoulis had the secondary assist. Gabriel Leclerc scored NYA’s third goal, then Brochu and Daniel teamed up to set up Colaluca for a power-play goal late in the second.

Lewiston’s Nick Pelletier and Brunswick’s Grey Perham tallied on assists on Daniels’ third-period goal midway through the frame. Matt Brown scored his second goal less than four minutes later, with Adrian Mendoza picking up his second assist.

The Panthers got off on the right foot, with North Yarmouth native Cole Lambert setting up Brown 27 seconds into the game.

Vincent Ouellet stopped 27 of 33 saves to earn the win for the Panthers.

NYA advances to the Holt Conference semifinals at Portsmouth Abbey in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, on Friday.
