To the Editor:Thank you to Lee Dassler and Janet Allen who both represented our community to the state and to the nation recently! Snowshoes and the Snowshoe Festival were highlighted on Maine Calling on public radio Saturday, Feb 9, and then, to my delight, Janet Allen, our very own librarian at Oxford Hills Middle School was one of the contestants on Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me the next day on NPR. Lee from Western Foothills Land Trust ended Maine Calling with the dream of having the gigantic snowshoe be prominently displayed in Norway again, highlighting us as the snowshoe capital of the world. Let’s make Lee’s dream a reality! And then Janet, way to go! Sure, you guessed the same 6 Second Club that I was going to pick as well. Neither of us got it, which is, fortunately, not the point on Wait Wait. Thanks for representing us so well on the airwaves.

So much fun to hear “from South Paris, Maine” and then Peter Sagal’s response of having absolutely no idea where it is. Well, you both put us on the map for a few short minutes this past weekend. Thanks to both of you!
