PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Matt Brown scored 5:17 into double overtime to give North Yarmouth Academy a 4-3 win over host Portsmouth Abbey in a Holt Conference boys hockey semifinal Friday.

The Panthers advance to Saturday’s conference championship at Pingree School in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.

Lewiston’s Nick Pelletier provided the primary assist on NYA’s first goal, which was scored by Adrian Mendoza just under seven minutes into the second period. Yarmouth native Hugo Daniel secured the secondary assist.

Daniel scored the Panthers’ next two goals, the first of which was a shorthanded marker that came three minutes after Mendoza’s and was assisted by Brunswick’s Grey Perham. Auburn’s Ethan Brochu assisted on Daniel’s second goal in the third period.

Dylan Kullman, a Westbrook native, and Matthew Katsoulis assisted on the game-winning by Brown, who NYA coach Mike Warde said “brought great energy today.”

Vincent Ouellet made 45 saves in the win.
