The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston is excited to announce the results from our Twin Cities Swim Team’s performance last weekend at the New England Age Group Championships at the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, Massachusetts on Feb. 24-25. This is the highest level of competition in New England for swimmers aged 11-14. This was the first year the Twin Cities Swim Team has competed at this meet, with nine swimmers attending.

Caden LaPlante finished in first place in four individual events. His time of 24.70 seconds in the 50-yard butterfly ranks number one in the country. LaPlante finished 2nd
overall at the meet.

LaPlante helped the Twin Cities Swim Team finish third in the boys’ freestyle relay with Alex Kozckodan, Ian Lane, and Eli Vandeventer.

Twin Cities Swim Team had 12 top 20 finishes for individual events and seven top 20 finishes for relay events. Seven team records were broken in total. Twin City Swim Team finished 20th of 64 teams in attendance and eight swimmers will compete at nationals.
