Omer Bourque
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – Omer passed away on Jan. 20, 2024, at his home in No. Fort Myers, Fla., with his wife and daughter by his side. He was 86. Omer was born on July 2, 1937, in Lewiston, to Leon and Alice (Belisle) Bourque, the eleventh of 12 children.
He attended Holy Family Church and school, graduated from St. Dom’s in 1955 and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959. He married his high school sweetheart, Suzanne Tardiff in 1958. Together they raised seven children.
Omer is survived by his wife Suzanne; his children Joline Lambert, David, James, Marc, John, Michael, Anne Marie Loell; his sister, Gisele Maurais Jackson, sister-in-law Doris; 28 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Robert, Emile, Real, Rita Arsenault, Cecile, Sr. Theresa SJC, Pauline Breton, Jean-Paul, Roland, Leo; and his granddaughter, Jessica.
Funeral Mass will take place at 11:30 a.m., Saturday March 9, at Holy Family Church of Prince of Peace Parish, 607 Sabattus St., Lewiston.
