The seven semifinalists for the Travis Roy Award were announced over the weekend, and among them are a pair of standouts from Twin Cities teams and another who attends Oxford Hills.

Lewiston forward Dylan Blue, St. Dominic Academy forward Timothee Ouellette and Kadan Neureuther, who plays forward for Lake Region/Fryeburg/Oxford Hills, are in the running for the award that is annually presented by the Class A Hockey Association to the most outstanding senior boys player.

Also named semifinalists Sunday were: Bangor forwards Jackson Guimond and Miles Randall, Marshwood/Noble/Traip/Sanford forward Ayden Lockard and Portland/South Portland/Deering/Waynflete forward Tobey Lappin.

Ouellette is tied for the lead in Class A with 36 points. He scored 14 goals and dished out a Class A-leading 22 assists for the Saints.

Blue is tied (with twin brother Ethan) for the team lead in points, with 24 points in 19 games for Lewiston heading into Wednesday’s Class A semifinal against Thornton Academy. Dylan Blue has scored a team-high 15 goals for the No. 1 Blue Devils, to go along with nine assists.

Neureuther, an Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School student, is the other leading point-scorer in Class A this season, with 18 goals and 18 assists.

Lockard is the leading goal-scorer, with 23 goals, and his 32 points rank third.

Lappin is tied for seventh in Class A for points produced, with 28 (16 goals, 12 assists). His Beacons team, which defeated St. Dom’s on Saturday, will face Bangor in Wednesday’s other semifinal.

Randall’s 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) lead Bangor. Guimond goes into the semifinals with 14 points (five goals, nine assists) despite missing three games.

The finalists will be announced later this week after the semifinals. The winner will be announced Saturday, March 16, at the Class A Hockey Banquet in Brunswick.
