LIVERMORE — A public hearing on a proposed marijuana business, a boat business and the annual town meeting warrant will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Town Office/Fire Station complex at 10 Crash Road.

Robert Tarrant is requesting permission to have a marijuana cultivation facility at 112 Botka Hill Road. He wants to be closer to his marijuana store in Livermore Falls, Administrative Assistant Carrie Judd said March 1

“I think it will be good to get this out there,” Planning Board Chairman Travis Tardif said Sunday evening. “It is such a residential area. There have been some concerns about it.”

A boat business proposed by Matt and Amanda Ackley is near the former Carriage House Café across from Dollar General on Federal Road. They work on boats, wrap them and sell boat products, Judd said.

During the public hearing, residents canask questions about articles for the April 23 annual town meeting.

The proposed budget for 2024-25 is $2.07 million, not including county and educational assessments. It’s an increase of $162,067, or 8.48% more than the $1.91 million budget for 2023-24.

Voters will be asked to approve purchasing and financing up to $75,000 for a used backhoe for the Highway Department.

Voters will also consider approving $5,000 for the summer recreation program held at the Area Youth Sports building in Livermore Falls. In January, Livermore Falls and Jay approached Livermore seeking $8,637 for the program, with the other towns contributing roughly $17,200 each.

Voting on the annual warrant and election of officers will be April 23 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Livermore Community Center on Church Street. It was decided last August to hold all elections at the center.
