DEAR SUN SPOTS: You are such a big help with all our inquiries. I’m wondering if you would have a good, easy recipe for bread pudding. Thank you for your help. — Rose, Lewiston

ANSWER: There are so many great options for bread pudding recipes — some are basic and some are very fancy!

I’ll give you a plain one to try, but if you want something different, let me know. Hey readers, what’s your favorite bread pudding recipe?

Bread Pudding: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cube 6 slices of sturdy bread and place in a buttered 8-inch square baking pan. Drizzle 2 tablespoons melted butter over the bread and sprinkle 1/2 cup of raisins over the top. The raisins are optional.

Whisk 2 cups whole milk, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 4 beaten eggs, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon vanilla together in a medium bowl until well combined. Pour mixture over the bread, and lightly push down with a fork until all the bread is covered and is soaking up the liquid.

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and the top springs back when lightly pressed, about 45 minutes. This makes 6-8 servings.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a recommendation for a residential masonry service if anyone needs restoration or is looking to install new masonry. Zachary Wilson’s number is 754-1341. Don’t hesitate to call him! — No name, no town

ANSWER: Thanks for the recommendation! It now has a home in the Rolodex.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’ve heard of this recently about rodent tape: https://www.collegehillshonda.com/product/4019-2317.html — Carol, Auburn

ANSWER: I mentioned this product in my previous column on this topic. Thank you for the link. Rodent tape is a deterrent for critters that like to chew vehicle wiring. It’s sold by the American Honda Co. You wrap trouble spots to prevent any future wire harness issues. The tape is treated with capsaicin (active component in chili peppers). When wrapping the harness it is recommended to use the half-wrapping method. Each time you wrap the tape around the harness overlap the previous layer by half the width of the tape. One roll is 65 feet.

In my opinion, it’s a better solution than rodent poison because this is all natural, but what you use is a matter of preference and getting out the “big guns”, i.e. the poison is sometimes necessary if you have a true infestation. Just use the products responsibly.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Dawn asked about YouTube TV (March 11 Sun Spots). Quite a few years ago we switched from DISH to YouTube. We’ve been very happy with it. Unfortunately,  as with many streaming services, the price has increased significantly. We have unlimited recording space and all the local channels are part of the package. We use it with both Roku and Firestick devices. We have taken one of the devices when we travel so we can watch shows we have recorded. I don’t have any knowledge about the football package though. No name, no town

ANSWER: Thanks for explaining these options! I only have a Firestick and stream just a few channels. I’m quite content with that myself!
