The University of Maine at Augusta, in collaboration with the Maine CareerCenters, is set to host its second annual job and resource fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, in the Randall Student Center Fireplace Lounge on the Augusta campus.

Whether hoping to find their first job, a better job, or a new career direction, job seekers can find opportunities at this event. Several local employers from a variety of industry sectors will be eager to hire for immediate openings in a wide range of fields. The job fair is open to the public, according to a news release from the university.

Participating organizations include A4TD, AngleZ Behavioral Health Services, Assistance Plus, Camden National Bank, Cary Medical Center/Pines Health Services and Cives Steel Company New England.

Also, ESM, Inc., FCI Berlin, First National Bank, Gateway Community Services, General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, GrowSmart Maine/Kennebec Broadband Partnership and Hagar Enterprises, Inc.

Also, John Turner Consulting, Journey Magazine, Kennebec Behavioral Health, Kennebec Savings Bank, Maine Department of Corrections, and Maine Department of Health & Human Services: Commissioner’s Office.

Also, U.S. Customs & Border Protection, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Coast Guard, Veteran Benefits Administration, Walgreens and Woodlands Senior Living.

Attendees should have a good sense of the position they want, and what they can bring to the role. Having a 30-60 second elevator pitch can serve well in this type of environment, due to the limited time they may have with each employer.

People should bring several copies of their resume, and research the companies they’re interested in talking with before the fair.
