DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Woman’s Literary Union is hosting the De-Stash Sale on Saturday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Foss Mansion at 19 Elm St. in Auburn. No admission fee is needed for shoppers looking to increase their stash of craft supplies. WLU will sell homemade baked goods.

We are also in search of prom gowns to give away. It is not too late to donate a gown before the girls arrive Saturday, April 13, to find their special prom gown, free of charge. To schedule a fitting time from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. go to  http://tinyurl.com/mujtsp9y . For more information, call Kathy Lawrence at 402-7591. — Kathy, no town

ANSWER: This event sounds fun! And I’m sure many Sun Spotters need craft supplies (don’t we always?)

I heard that larger sizes of prom dresses are especially needed. You can leave the dresses at Day’s Jewelers at Center St. in Auburn (784-6766), at the Franco Center at 46 Cedar St. in Lewiston (783-1585) , or at Maine Gourmet Chocolates at 168 Main St. in Auburn (783-8472).

I hope girls who need a prom dress will take advantage of the annual WLU Prom Gown Giveaway. I want to thank all the members who work so hard to make it happen and all the people who donate gowns.
