Pauline Champagne

GREENE – Pauline Champagne, 81, of Greene, passed away on Friday March 29, 2024 at her home, less than eight months after her husband of 58 years passed.

Pauline was born on Oct. 25, 1942 in Lewiston to Adjutor and Anita (Cote) Doyon.

Upon graduating from Lewiston High School, Pauline worked at Paragon Glass Co., her in-home daycare while their children were young, and Hannaford Supermarket in Lewiston for 30 years until her retirement. She was called “memere” as a term of endearment by the associates who worked there with her, for many years. During retirement, Pauline worked at Pooh’s preschool and Daycare in Greene. Pauline was a proud member of the Prince of Peace Parish Trinity, and enjoyed joining in the nightly prayer service.

She enjoyed many things such as reading, Zumba, gardening, puzzles, and knitting with cousins and friends. Pauline loved The Leavitt Hornets, and she was a fan of the New England Patriots.

Pauline was predeceased by her parents; loving husband, Lionel; brother, Paul Doyon; mother-in-law, Jeannette Lessard; and brother-in-law, Robert Champagne.

She is survived by daughters Jeanne Gagne (Mike), Christine Moore (Robert), Cindy McDougall (Matt); sister, Priscilla Daigle (Leo); eight grandchildren, Danielle (Dana) Mooers, Cathryn (Dan) Clark, Michelle (Jeff) Owen, Monique Gagnon, Dylan Moore (Allyson), Derek Moore (Julianna), Kaitlyn (Eric) Tillman, and Brady Lessard; 11 great-grandchildren; Pauline’s loving in-laws Richard Lessard (Joni), Ronald Lessard (Marcella), Debra Houle (Gerry), Linda Marcotte (Jeffrey); and several special nieces and nephews.

There will be a service held on April 9 at 1 p.m. at East Auburn Baptist Church, 50 Park Ave., Auburn, ME 04210
