DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Pleasant St. Drop-in Center is in need of men’s clothing, especially jeans, boots and T-shirts. We also need more blankets because they go quickly each week, especially because of the rainy, cold weather. If you have items to donate, please drop them off at the Center, 169 Pleasant St. in Auburn on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: I love helping nonprofits get the word out. Please send in your news to share, and your requests for items and volunteers if you’re involved with helping others. And thank you for all you do on behalf of others in need!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Could you please tell me what happens to personal mail sent to Gov. Mills? I sent her a letter six weeks ago concerning a troublesome rental issue with a new landlord. To date I have not received any correspondence from her office.

Thank you for any information on the letter process to the governor. — No name, no town

ANSWER: I can’t even imagine how much mail the governor’s office staff sifts through in the day. In the case of your letter with the subject matter regarding your landlord, the letter may have been shifted to another department where staff members have the expertise to serve you.

You could try going to https://www.maine.gov/governor/mills/contact where you will see choices for email forms and can send a request for assistance that way.

You can also go to the Maine Attorney General’s website at https://www.maine.gov/ag/consumer/complaints/index.shtml and file a consumer complaint report there. You can also send a letter to Attorney General’s Consumer Information and Mediation Service, 6 State House Station, Augusta, Maine 04333.

Another option is to call 211, explain your issue, and become informed on what resources are available to you.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Local television news channels often show webcam views from Auburn and Lewiston. These views are useful for those traveling to the L-A area from surrounding communities to check traffic and weather conditions before leaving. I have searched online for any of the L-A webcams used by the news channels but have found nothing. Do you know of any websites where we have public access webcam views of downtown Auburn and Lewiston? — Chris, no town

ANSWER: The Lewiston-Auburn Airport has a weather cam (https://weathercams.faa.gov/map/-69.86276,44.04833,10/airport/LEW/details/camera), but it really just shows the sky and occasional departures and landings, certainly not downtown. I don’t know of any other webcams that are available to the public for viewing
