Maine Gladiators defenseman Aizyk Laliberte was named to the USA Hockey’s Tier II 16U all-tournament team for his performance at the national tournament last week in Dallas, Texas.
The Lewiston High School sophomore led the Auburn-based Gladiators with four goals and three assists in four games.
Laliberte finished tied for eighth in tournament scoring. The Gladiators advanced to the quarterfinals before falling 3-1 to the Alaska-based Valley Thunder.
Last month, Laliberte helped the Blue Devils win their 25th Class A state championship by recording a hat trick in the 5-0 title game win over Bangor. In the past month, he has been named to the Sun Journal’s All-Region second team and named to the Class A All-State second team by the Maine High School Hockey Coaches Association.
