CAPE ELIZABETH — Brady Inman lifted Cape Elizabeth to a 3-2 extra-innings victory over Poland with a walk-off hit in the bottom of the eighth inning in a Western Maine Conference baseball season opener Monday.

Jameson Bryant of Cape Elizabeth and Adam Gwarjanski were locked in a pitchers’ duel through six innings, until a perfectly executed squeeze play by Sam Paladino put the Knights on the board in the top of the sixth, after which they led 2-0.

Gabe Harmon led off the bottom of the sixth with a home run, one of two runs the Capers scored to even the score at 2-2. Harmon also pitched in relief and earned the win.
