Participants may purchase an envelope of tickets and deposit them for the chance to win over 100 items including gift certificates, gift baskets, collectibles, baked items and many more. ANSWER: These ticket auctions are fun and a great fundraiser, too. Participants have a chance to view all the items/offerings then you can spread your tickets among the items or put them all on one thing. Enjoy.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a couple of areas in my yard with tough plants like day lilies that need to be removed. Do you know of someone in the Lewiston area who has a rototiller or similar equipment that can uproot these? — Chris, no town

ANSWER: You could call a landscaping company to see what they could do for you. However, let’s put this request out into Sun Spots Land to see if we can find a helper for you who has the equipment needed. Stay tuned.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I enjoy reading your column and would like to share a good Samaritan story. My friend, Evelyn, and I went to Governor’s for their award-winning haddock chowder, a Tuesday special.

We enjoyed our meal and when we asked for the bill, our waitress told us it had already been paid for. That was a first for both of us and we would like to thank them. We will definitely look for an opportunity to pay it forward because we would like someone else to be as surprised and happy as we were as we walked out of the restaurant! — Lena, Lewiston
