Linda Lenahan
MECHANIC FALLS – Linda Lenahan, 83, of Mechanic Falls sadly left us on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from her home. She was born in Bethlehem, NH, on March 31 of 1941, the daughter of Ralph Sanborn and Marjorie Roberts. She graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1957.
On Oct. 26, 1960, Linda married Francis Lenahan. Together they raised three daughters and were married for almost 64 years.
Linda worked as certified nursing aid, where she did private duty work at Clover Manor. She was a wonderful homemaker, where she not only raised her family, but took care of many other children for friends and relatives. She was also a leader for both Brownie and Girl Scout’s while her daughters were growing up. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church, for which she was the Treasurer for many years.
She spent her summers at their camp in Poland. She loved working in her flower gardens, feeding and watching her birds. She enjoyed sewing, making multiple wool rugs, and many more crafts including cross stitching and knitting to name a few. She was an excellent cook. She loved making big holiday dinners, which took her days to prepare for. She made bread and her famous rolls that her grandchildren loved, delicious pies and other goodies. She loved to read not only novels but also her books on antiques, crafts and cookbooks. She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. She had a love of dolls.
She is survived by her husband, Francis Lenahan; their three daughters, Lisa Lenahan and partner Kurt Heaward of Arizona, Lori Bennett and husband Gary of Oxford, and Lian Levasseur and husband Tim of Mechanic Falls; five grandchildren, Zachary Lenahan, Journee Levasseur, Bronte Levasseur, McCartney Levasseur and Lyric Levasseur; three great grandchildren, Gavin and Gabrielle Lenahan and Abigail Lenahan. Also survived by step-brother Kenneth Roberts. She will also be deeply missed by her beloved dog and protector, Teddy.
Besides her parents and stepfather, Herbert Roberts, she was predeceased by her sister Rhoda Rousseau,, brother Dale Roberts, stepbrother Ernest Roberts and stepsister Carolyn Davis; and grandson Nicholas Lenahan.
A graveside service will be held at a later date this summer.
