Lawrence Pomerleau

GREENE – Lawrence Pomerleau, 92, of Greene, died peacefully at his son’s home in Leeds on April 5, 2024. He was born in Livermore Falls on June 23, 1931, the son of Omer Pomerleau and Alfreda (Michaud) Breton.

He attended schools in Livermore Falls and joined the US Army in October of 1948. He rose to the rank of corporal and was honorably discharged in July of 1952.

Lawrence was a hard worker who took pride in providing for his family. He often worked two jobs. He built his own house and worked in the woods cutting trees for firewood until his late 80’s. He adored his youngest great-granddaughters Esyln and Nora. He loved animals and spending time with his grand dogs Mickey, Max, Paisley, Emma and Brandy. He was very personable and made friends wherever he went. He was kind, loving and generous. He was happiest when surrounded by family and loved the weekly Sunday family gatherings. He will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Jeanne Pomerleau, whom he was married to for over 62 years, his brothers, Omer Jr., Roland “Babe”, Reginald and Henry Pomerleau, sisters, Rita Dubois and Laurette Bryant Beaulieu.

He is survived by his four children, Donald Pomerleau and wife Tanis, Darlene Sirois and partner Ed Leitzinger, Laurie Smith and husband Michael and Stephen Pomerleau and wife Julie; his brother Laurie Pomerleau and sister Dorian Pomerleau; his grandchildren, Luke Pomerleau, Nicholas Pomerleau, and Andrea Carr; as well as three great grandchildren, Justin Pomerleau, Eslyn Pomerleau and Nora Carr.

There will be a small private graveside service for immediate family only.
