DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have an all-wool afghan my mother began knitting for me. She passed away last year, and in trying to finish this, I realized I need more yarn.

Does anyone know of area stores that carry Bartlett wool yarn? I need four skeins each of light sheep’s gray 2-ply yarn and medium sheep’s gray 2-ply yarn.

If there are shops that sell this, I would like to get information. I am not concerned with the dye lots because I know it might be impossible to match. My mother bought the yarn quite a while ago. — Susan, no town

ANSWER: First, I want to offer my condolences. I hope finishing the afghan will be healing for you.

To all you knitters and crocheters: Here is a time to shine. Can you help Susan find this made-in-Maine yarn in the Lewiston-Auburn area?

I found the Bartlett website where you can order directly from its Harmony, Maine, location: www.bartlettyarns.com, 207-683 2251.
