DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a problem with a virus that keeps shutting my computer down. Do other people have this problem? I would like to know how to get rid of it. — No name, Strong

ANSWER: You really need computer tech to help you remedy this exasperating situation. They will be able to identify the virus and bring your computer back to rights.

Does your library offer technical assistance? Many libraries do, and if your computer is a laptop, you can make an appointment for help. You may also have a friend or family member (my grandchildren are great resources) who can get you out of trouble with your device.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I want to thank you so much for the great bread pudding recipes you put in your column. I enjoyed them so much and made some of puddings for my friends who need help at this time.

I was in the hospital when some of the other recipes came out in the column and later read that someone tried a chocolate bread pudding recipe that you had included. I lost my paper for two days so I missed that recipe.

Would it be possible for you to print that again so I could deliver a variety of desserts to my homebound people? Thank you so much for your great help. — Rose, Lewiston

ANSWER: I’m sorry to hear you were in the hospital and hope you have mended well. You are so sweet to be preparing special treats for your friends, especially just after your confinement. My hope is that someone made you some good healing food as well when you got home.

Here is the recipe, which is very similar to a bread pudding my grandmother used to make and is from a West Poland reader:

Chocolate Bread Pudding: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter a casserole dish. In a bowl stir together 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1 heaping tablespoon cocoa, and a dash of salt. Add 1 cup bread cubes (2 slices of bread, torn into pieces) and stir.

Stir in 1 beaten egg and 1 pint of milk. Bake for 1 hour.
