DEAR SUN SPOTS: Members of Mu Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma, cordially thank all educators, including all administrators and support staff, for your dedication and commitment to the young people with whom you work every day. Each day you face new challenges, which you must meet with your expertise and thoughtful care.

We thank you, not only during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6-10, but also throughout the school year. We appreciate your efforts to care for the many needs of our young people today. — Mu Chapter members, no town

ANSWER: I’m running this thank you note early as a reminder to everyone that this special week, where we appreciate all our educators, school administrators and support staff,  is coming right up. There are so many ways you can reach out to thank those people who are with your children during the school day.

I will publish this again the week of May 6, but let’s get a head start and be thinking about writing notes with words of kindness, and talking with your children about how your family can do something special for those adults in their school.

I’d love to hear about any ideas you’d like to share with others, and what you plan to do, or have done in the past.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m offering my late husband’s Yamaha piano to any music enthusiast. If you or someone you know might value this instrument, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me by emailing malthiameena@gmail.com. — Allyson, no town

ANSWER: Let us know if Sun Spots is instrumental in helping you find a good home for this piano. We’ve made similar matches several times in the past so chances are good we’ll find a good home for it and the piano will continue to be well-loved.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: During the 2023 Christmas fairs, I met a teacher at the Armory in Lewiston. He was selling 3-D nightlights and globe lights that he creates from pictures customers provide.

I purchased a nightlight of “The Naughty Sisters.” I would love to purchase two globes for wedding gifts but cannot find his business card. If you could connect us I would be so appreciative. — No name, no town

ANSWER: I’m hoping that the artist you’re speaking of sees this and responds. Meanwhile, Sun Spotters, if you purchased one of these lights at the Armory Christmas fair, or are one of the organizers, please send the information to me so I can share it with everyone.
