AUBURN — Logan Carpenter hit four doubles and the Central Maine Community College baseball team won its regular season finale 15-5 over Quincy College on Wednesday.
The game was slated to go nine innings but Kaleb Thompson’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh put the mercy rule into effect.
Thompson and Brandon Gour each drove in three runs. Lee Robinson drove in two and scored three times. Gage Hubbard homered and Kyle Delano tripled for the Mustangs (18-15-1, 8-4 YSCC).
CMCC will be the second seed in this weekend’s Yankee Small College Conference tournament at the Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach. The Mustangs will open against third-seeded York County CC in the semifinals at 11 a.m. Saturday.
No. 1 Southern Maine CC will face either Quincy or NHTI at 2 p.m. The league championship will take place Saturday at 5 p.m. between the winners of the two semifinal games.
