FARMINGTON – Gloria Joan Kimball, 96, of Rumford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the Sandy River Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Locke Mills on Dec. 10, 1927, the daughter of Owen and Bertha Lawrence Davis. She attended school in Locke Mills and married her husband Donald Kimball in October 1945.

Joan was a homemaker, and the bookkeeper for the family Mobil garage in Dixfield. She was also a member of the Greenwood Historical Society.

Joan and her beloved husband Donald, enjoyed going to many Old Time Dances and fairs together. She enjoyed playing the piano, cooking, crocheting, and good conversation exchanged around the kitchen table. Joan was full of wisdom and had a great sense of humor. She cherished her family and was a much-loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.

She is survived by her sons Peter and wife Kathy of Michigan and Kenneth and his friend Lisa of Rumford; grandchildren Jessica, Jason and Peter, Jr.; great grandchildren Ericka, Brooke, Jacob and Olivia; great great grandchildren Harper and Grayson; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald, good friend Bob and siblings Mary, Betty and John.

Memorial services will be held at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main Street, South Paris on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 1 p.m. Online condolences may be shared with her family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.
