SABATTUS – Bertrand R. Gosselin, 79, of Sabattus, peacefully passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side, following a brief illness.

Born in Lewiston on Feb. 17, 1945, he was the son of Roland and Anita Gosselin (Mathieu). Educated in local schools, he was employed for many years as an oil burner technician for local oil companies & worked at Hall & Knight until retirement. Bert enjoyed golfing, bowling, and watching sports. He also enjoyed discussing sports with his brother Roger on the phone during a game. He enjoyed playing cards on Saturday nights with his wife & neighbors.

Bert is survived by his loving wife Dorothy (Morin) of Sabattus along with is beloved dog Sophia; a son, Bertrand Gosselin and wife Tammy of Lewiston, a daughter, Denise (Gosselin) Stanek and husband Jeff of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Robert Gosselin and companion Beverly of Baltimore, Md., and Roland Gosselin and wife Cynthia of Portland, Ore., a sister, Lorraine Moore of Harrison, and a sister-in-law, Gloria Gosselin of Lewiston,; two grandchildren, Kayla and husband Nolan Rioux, and Kyle Gosselin and wife Makayla; and three great-grandchildren, Ryder and Waylon Rioux, and Byron Gosselin. He is also survived by his in-laws, the Morin family.

He was predeceased by both parents, brothers Roger and Normand and sister-in-law Dee, and his beloved dog Suzie.

Visitation will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine Street, Lewiston on Thursday, May 2, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Liturgy of the Word Service at 6 p.m. Interment with committal prayers will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sabattus on Friday, May 3, at 11 a.m. The Liturgy of the Word Service will be live streamed via Bert’s obituary page on the funeral home’s website.
