SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – On April 28, 2024, Eveline (Parent) Morton surrounded by family at home received her wings and went to dance with her beloved Herb to celebrate their May 1st anniversary of 70 years. Herbert H. Morton preceded her in 2004. She is survived by son Gary and wife Andrea and daughter Doreen and husband Robert Doyle.

Eveline was the proud mémère to Kaitlyn (Morton) Cole, Erika (Morton) Dubose, Thomas Morton Putnam and Rhèa Marie Putnam and their spouses James, Coby, Courtney and Spencer. She adored being the great grandmère to Desmond and Charles Cole and Jude Dubose.

Eveline leaves a brother-in-law Philip Morton and wife Beverly who she and Herb had many adventures with over the years along with many adoring nieces, nephews, and their families. She cherished her many friends.

Eveline was predeceased by five brothers, Elias, Alcide, Lucien, Wilfred and Norman Parent and one sister Aline (Parent) Saucier.

Eveline was born to Adelia (Michaud) and Etienne Parent in Lewiston, Maine where she was raised and graduated from Lewiston High School later attending Auburn School of Commerce Business School. She worked as a secretary for the Lewiston Superintendent Office. In Maine, Eveline performed in many plays, operettas, minstrel shows and sang in the choir at St. Peter and St. Paul Church. She was accepted to The Juilliard School in NY for her amazing voice but was not able to attend.

Moving to Shrewsbury, Mass. in 1969, Eveline worked as a bookkeeper for Orlando’s Market and later secretary to JW Augusto Sprinkler finally retiring in 1994 to take care of her beloved Herb.

A member of St. Anne’s Parish, Shrewsbury and later St. John Paul II Parish in Southbridge, Mass.

Eveline was an avid swimmer and member of the Worcester YWCA for many years where she made so many wonderful friends and later at the Southbridge YMCA where the employees went out of their way to make sure she could make it to the pool. She enjoyed knitting, reading, skiing, dancing and hardly ever missed golf on tv. She was also the biggest (and loudest) fan at all her family sport events.

The family thank the wonderful care of Larraine Harvey at Visiting Angels and the wonderful hospice team from The Overlook in Charlton.

Mass will be May 25, 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Parish in Southbridge followed by burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.

In lieu of flowers, Eveline requested that donations be made in her name to one of her beloved causes:
