NORWAY — A restorative community training workshop is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Alan Day Community Garden, 26 Whitman St.
Participants can learn to create a sense of belonging and inclusivity, practice specific methods to make group decision-making more effective, and make community meetings better prepared to listen to diverse groups of people in a more mindful and respectful way.
This is an experiential workshop to learn the philosophy behind restorative community and hands-on skills to practice creating community with others.
As a partnership between the Alan Day Community Garden and the Oxford County Wellness Collaborative, Katey Branch and Brendan Schauffler will facilitate this free workshop; lunch will be provided.
To reserve a place, call or text 207-890-9622, or visit alandaycommunitygarden.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
