BRUNSWICK — Naomi Valcin hit a grand slam and a three-run home run and Kassidy Lobb pitched a no-hitter as Edward Little beat Brunswick 13-0 in five innings in a KVAC softball game Monday.

Lobb struck out eight batters and didn’t issue any walks. She also hit a double.

Valcin finished with seven RBIs and scored three runs. Izzy Jalbert tallied two hits and drove in two runs, and Tiana Avila had two hits, scored two runs and drove in one run.

BUCKFIELD 17, TEMPLE 0: A 10-run first inning propelled the Bucks to a three-inning mercy rule victory in Buckfield.

Chloee Bennett tripled, doubled and had three RBIs for Buckfield (5-0). Teammates Cora Brewster, Addison Stevens-Belanger, Brittany Carrier and Lillian Sharples also doubled.

Bucks pitcher Carmen Crockett had three strikeouts. Buckfield finished with 16 hits, and Temple Academy (0-6) had one.

LEWISTON 4, POLAND 3: Ava Dionne singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh to lift the Blue Devils past the Knights in Poland.

Lewiston (4-4) scored twice in the sixth inning and twice in the seventh.

Aubrey Peer drove in three of the Blue Devils’ runs. Irelyn Ackley tallied a team-high three hits and Juliet Philippon had two. Dionne pitched all seven innings and earned the win for Lewiston.

Poland (4-4) pitcher Gretchyn Paradis struck out nine batters in seven innings. She also had a hit and drove in a run.

Olivia Rioux tripled and a doubled for the Knights, while Phoebe Paradis tallied two hits and scored two runs, and Sydney Lacombe doubled, scored a run and had an RBI.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 10, MT. VIEW 4: Mallorie Bourret drove in three runs and scored twice as the Falcons earned their first win of the season by defeating the Mustangs (1-5) in Thorndike.

Brooke Bennett added a pair of hits and a pair of runs for Mountain Valley (1-6), while Ali Mazza drove in two runs.

Lanee Boucher pitched a complete game for the Falcons.

OAK HILL 5, MT. ABRAM 2: The Raiders scored five runs and tallied eight hits to secure the win in Salem Township.

Aubrey McElhaney hit a single and double for Oak Hill (4-2). Teammate Delia Custer hit three singles, while Sydney Wood had two singles and Carlee Austin added one.

Raiders pitcher Izzy Whitaker struck out nine batters.

Mt. Abram (1-5) tallied seven singles — two apiece by Adrianna Stinchfield and Vega Rollins and one each by Edna Bilodeau, Ari Derezynski and Randi White. Stinchfield struck out 11 batters in the circle.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 8, LEAVITT 7: Haley Puchalski’s single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Madison Boynton and lifted the Panthers (8-1) past the Hornets (6-2) in Waldoboro.

Kaylee Kurr tripled and Boynton doubled for the Panthers, who scored four runs in the sixth inning.

For Leavitt, Sam Deblois hit a home run, while Maddy Dutil and Jordyn Boulay doubled.

Hailey Cyr pitched 6 1/3 innings for the Hornets, and DeBlois pitched the final 1/3 inning.

DIRIGO 14, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3: Lana Waite didn’t allow a hit and the Cougars scored 11 runs in the first two innings en route to a big home win over the Patriots in Dixfield.

Waite struck out eight batters and walked four. She also was big at the plate, hitting a pair of doubles to lead Dirigo’s (4-1) 10-hit attack.

Abby Luczynski had a triple and Keira Reny doubled for the Cougars.

Dirigo plated four runs in the first inning and seven in the second.

BASEBALL
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4, DIRIGO 3: Kobi Conant and Griffin Richmond each had an RBI single as the Patriots (2-6) overcame a 2-0 first-inning deficit to beat the Cougars (0-6) in Dixfield.

Noah Geer pitched five perfect innings of relief with eight strikeouts to earn the win for Gray-New Gloucester.

Ethan Olsen had Dirigo’s only hit and drove in a pair of runs. Pitcher Travis Wright struck out five in seven innings.

MT. ABRAM 3, OAK HILL 2: The Roadrunners edged the Raiders, scoring the winning run on a throwing error with two outs in the eighth inning in Salem Township.

Ash Rollins reached base with a single in the eighth, then stole second base and came home on the error.

Killian Pillsbury led Mt. Abram (5-2) with two hits. Relief pitcher Bryce Wilcox earned the win. Starter Logan Dube pitched seven strong innings.

Braden New and Braden Dubuc had two singles apiece and Cooper Spencer tripled for Oak Hill (5-2)

POLAND 4, LEWISTON 2: A three-run sixth inning pushed the Knights past the Blue Devils in Poland.

Poland’s Adam Gwarjanski pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts, and Travis West led the Knights (5-3) offense with a pair of RBIs.

Jeffrey Randall tallied two hits for Lewiston (2-6). Starter Lonnie Thomas pitched five strong inning, allowing only one earned run.

EDWARD LITTLE 10, BRUNSWICK 0: The Red Eddies tallied 10 runs on 12 hits in their victory over their six-inning Dragons in Brunswick.

Ben DuBois and TJ Kramarz each had four hits and three RBIs. DuBois doubled and scored three runs, while Kramarz scored twice. Brooks Beaudry finished with three this and three RBIs. Eli St. Laurent also had a double.

Edward Little (3-6) pitcher Owen Scott earned the win, striking out eight and giving up three hits in six innings.

Jimmy Cook had two of Brunswick’s (4-4) three hits. Pitcher Liam Scholl struck out five in four innings on the mound.

OXFORD HILLS 4, SKOWHEGAN 1: The Vikings (6-2) snapped a 1-1 tie with three runs in the ninth inning to win at Colby College in Waterville.

Carter Holbrook and Brady Truman had two hits apiece for Oxford Hills. Ross Campbell earned the win out of the bullpen.

Noah McMahon tallied three hits for Skowhegan (5-3), while Jackson Hight had two, including a double.

TRAIP 2, BUCKFIELD 1: Caleb French’s double in the top of ninth inning powered the Rangers (3-4) over the Bucks (1-3) in Buckfield.

Colby Christiansen drove in Quinn Alessi with a grounder in the third inning to tie the game 1-1 for Traip.

Christiansen earned the win for the Rangers, striking out 11 and allowing only one run in nine innings.

Buckfield’s Gabe White fanned 10 and gave up only one hit and one inning before being lifted in the sixth inning. White also tallied a game-high three hits, while Krosby Harvey doubled for the Bucks.

GIRLS LACROSSE

BANGOR 12, MT. BLUE 10: Kiersten Daigle scored seven goals to pace the Rams (5-3) past the Cougars (4-3) at Cameron Stadium in Bangor.

Ellie Kulh, Sadie D’Alessio, Adella Mabee and Isabella Fagone also scored for Bangor. Emma Webster dished out three assists, Fagone two and Mabee one. Hulda Mattsen made 14 saves.

Maya Kellett led Mt. Blue with four goals, Bree Griffin tallied two goals and three assists, and Chloe Roberts and Lily Huntley each had one goal and one assist. Alissa Butterfield and Nina Bogar also scored, and Alaya Smith added an assist. Evie Hutchins stopped 13 shots.
