Marie Bragdon

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Marie Bragdon, 82, of Palm Beach Gardens, passed away on March 14, 2024, and will be deeply missed.

Marie was born on Dec. 10, 1941, to Alfred and Hazel Grondin in Farmington, Maine. As Marie attended Edward Little High School in Auburn Maine, graduating in 1960, she found her passion for many life-long loves. The most memorable one was meeting the love of her life, Donald, who she married on Feb. 11, 1961. During their 62 years together they welcomed three wonderful children, Tawny, Shawn, and Jennifer, and enjoyed a lifetime of happiness.

In addition to being a supportive and devoted mother and wife, Marie owned and operated a local business for 35 years alongside her husband. She also had a variety of interests that she successfully pursued, including being a board member for Androscoggin Bank and Central Maine Medical Center, managing a portfolio of commercial and residential real estate, modeling, and having the distinct honor of winning Ms. Auburn/Lewiston Maine in 1960 – all before retiring to Florida in 2000.

Outside of her career, Marie was the life of the party who loved entertaining her family and friends, decorating, cooking exceptional meals, and, of course, contributing to lots of laughter. Marie was welcoming to all and made sure everyone around her was cared for in a special way. Marie was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She loved holidays, especially Halloween that had visitors flocking to her home every year to see grand displays of holiday spirit and hear her rendition of the scariest witch that was a fan favorite.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Hazel Grondin, her son, Shawn Bragdon, and her granddaughter, Brooke Grenier. She is survived by her husband, Donald Bragdon; her children, Tawny Naugle and Jennifer Capozzi; her grandchildren, Tiffany Bocchino, Jacob Capozzi, Katie Capozzi, Laurel Bragdon, and Connor Bragdon; as well as great grandchildren and friends.

There was a private celebration of life held at 10:30 a.m., on March 25, 2024, at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery located at 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta Florida 33469.
