NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group will host a First Friday Reception featuring the artwork of Janet Healey and Barbara Traficonte from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 7. The Main Street Gallery is located at 426 Main Street in Norway. Janet and Barbara are Western Maine Art Group’s Artists of the Month. Their selected paintings will be on display through June.

These artists will display recent paintings and selected vintage paintings from a medley of different mediums. Their collection of recent works will include different interpretations of the same subject, highlighting their different approaches to the same subject. They explore different mediums including oil paints, pastels, and colored pencils while incorporating different techniques into their works. Critiquing each other along the way has helped them to stay motivated while still growing and developing as artists.

They have enjoyed learning from each other and sharing their visions. They have been painting together for approximately a year and have developed a strong friendship and a great respect for each other’s artwork.

They look forward to celebrating their accomplishments and showcasing all the artists of the Main Street Gallery.

The Main Street Gallery is part of the local Western Maine Art Group, representing a longstanding exposition of regional artists, which invites the public to explore and collect fine art made in the western mountains.
